Fun OK Café Reviews

Fun OK is a fun name for a cafe. It actually is a play of words – fun ok – which means ‘go home’ in Cantonese.  To me, this just shows that the owner must have a great sense of humour. And boy was I right!

My two colleagues and I went over to this place in Taman Connaught. Fun Ok is located on the first floor. On the way up, we saw some displays

Met a hottie

Saw some nice mice

Once upstairs, we were greeted by the friendly staff. And looking around we quickly spotted some fun things…

Angry Bird in a cage

A fishing cat

The place is set up like a home – some where you can relax and put up your feet. It’s divided into roomish area for some privacy.

And a sitting area with lots of pictures of their customers and activites.

Everyday household things have been used very creatively to emphasize the element of fun in this place.

I’m keeping my old washing machine after seeing this!

Oops…someone forgot to take out the washing!

Spotted one of Mr. Popper’s penguins

Fancy a toilet seat??

Oh, yes! We can be found in all the fun places!!

Our food arrived. The first was the Thai Rice.

It is served with omelette, breaded deep fried chicken slices and a salad with mayonnaise and Thai chili sauce. The chicken is tender and rather juicy. I found the sauce a tad too sweet. I’d have preferred a spicy sauce that has a more ‘Thai’ flavour

Mixed platter comes with lots of fried yummies.

Lots of crinkle cut fries, wedges, mini sausages, chicken rolls and sushi. Comes with a generous drizzle of mayonnaise and Thai chili sauce. This is a perfect dish for the young people who hang out at this café.

Then we had lots and lots of Special Fried Rice. This is special because it comes with three different types of rice. We ate pineapple fried rice, tom yam fried rice and the Fun OK fried rice. The first two were normal fried you can get everywhere but the Fun OK fried rice is delicious!! With dried shrimps, eggs and crabstick - this dish is simple yet appetizing.

We loved the accompanying Portugese sambal with deep fried calamari rings, prawns and crabstick. We could taste the spices and herbs that went into this lip- smacking sambal. Also loved the papadom!!

Chocolate banana frappe was next
